Concora Liner Tester

The Concora Liner Tester (CLT) measures the rigidity of liners, which is useful in predicting the compression strength of corrugated boxes. The CLT features an improved platen and sample holder which ensures the sample used in the test is held rigidly in and perfectly vertical.

The apparatus shown here consists of a sample holder, and upper and a lower platen and a straightening attachment. The CLT is used in conjunction with the .5" x 6.0" Concora Sample Cutter and the Concora Crush Tester.

Procedure for straight samples:

  1. A .5" x 6.0" sample strip is cut using the Concora Sample Cutter.
  2. The sample strip is placed in the sample holder which is then inserted into the platen.
  3. The sample and holder are placed into the Concora Crush Tester (see Concora Crush Tester for additional information.)

Procedure for curled samples:

  1. A .5" x 6.0" sample strip is cut using the Concora Sample Cutter.
  2. The sample strip is placed in the sample holder which is then inserted into the platen.
  3. The straightening attachment is connected to the upper platen. As the curled sample hits the beveled edge, it is straightened until it contracts the upper platen in a vertical position.
  4. The sample and holder are placed into the Concora Crush Tester (see Concora Crush Tester for additional information.)
