About UsLiberty Engineering Company is recognized today as a leading manufacturer of candy making equipment and paper testing equipment.
Founded in Beloit, Wisconsin in 1940, by Gerald Belardi, Liberty Engineering employed ten engineers working under contract for the US Government and for companies that manufactured components for the Armed Forces.
Due to increased government work, Liberty acquired a building in neighboring Roscoe, Illinois. In 1943 the Roscoe facility was expanded to handle increased manufacturing capacity and storage.
Liberty's specialized machining capability and facilities lead to the candy making industry during the boom years after WWII. Liberty manufactured candy molds, depositor pumps and rotary dies. Liberty was also sub-contracted to manufacture spare parts used throughout the candy making equipment industry. The post war years also lead Liberty into the paper and pulp industries Today Liberty is a major manufacture of paper testing equipment used in academic and industrial laboratories throughout the world.
